Selections From
POPCORN DAYS
March 1979 to November 1979
IN FLUX AND BUMP
Out-buttered long
in pop corn days,
out-numbered songs
in fitful rage and radio blur.
I am the melted freeze of time.
I am the silken ticking face
that stopped at 1:02
to gaze a fallen glance
at journeys past.
And I am, a question,
a comma, a crossing,
in flux and bump,
at toss and turn
caught up midst the yellow
and the blue.
My only word
and ground to stand:
the ever silent,
stable YOU.
R E T A I N E R
I
HAVE
STOPPED
WEARING
MY RETAINER.
A true sign of
maturity
independence, and
manhood.
Uh-oh, my teeth
are
slowly
dri f t i n g .
COLD UNDER COVERS
The wind howls
in phonics
around the house.
Turn-vents spin
with churning metal voices.
Icicles glisten, frozen leaves crack,
as ice-water flows in the pipes.
The last flicker in the fireplace
goes... out.
I'm wrapped in
two thousand blankets--
freezing.
SELECTIONS FROM
WELCOME TO THE WARM
November 1979 to May 1980
BRING ON TODAY
It's always today
with You.
You take fears that
still stain from yesterday,
fears that
reach back from tomorrow
and You hang them out
on a cross
to die.
You do that for me.
So that I can live today
with You, in You, through You,
for You and
it's always today.
Because You know
yesterday,
tomorrow,
today and FOREVER.
So.
Bring on today!
TWO-TIME
Entitled to two-time?
in due time, for
you time.
Wow, these puppets would be really TALL! And really hard to make... |
"In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye..."
